Blue and Orange Fall Decor

It’s fun to add homey, fall touches all throughout the house. It’s easy to do with the neutral color scheme for the rest of my house, but my bedroom is decidedly blue, gray, and green.

So how can you mix blue and orange?

In a few pictures, I think I’ll convince you that blue and orange fall decor is probably the prettiest combo you’ve seen!

I have tried several approaches to bringing fall decor into my bedroom but this year I feel like I nailed it.

Not that the other attempts looked bad…but you know when you’ve put something together and it just FEELS so right and when it is lacking.

In the past, I have tried to match my bedroom colors. So I found a blue pumpkin here and there. The neutral layering trend is strong and I always admire it.

But I’m a firm believer in working with what you got.

Our house is generally “builder grade” materials and layout. But when we bought it I did my best to strip that away.

Once I brought it down to concrete floors and primed walls, it was fun to see the otherwise hidden character of the house shyly emerge from hiding.

I was happy to find that it wasn’t ALL straight lines and square rooms.

This little shelf has been so fun to style through the seasons. I always have this pretty, shabby chic frame with my latest watercolor attempt displayed. Then I just surround it with smaller things to build the scene around it.

It conveniently holds whatever hat I need within reach also.

Function, meet cuteness, you look so good together!

*Disclaimer, I am not an artist (LOL) but my attempts at watercolor are so soothing to me that I keep trying. Also, I find hanging them inspiring because I can really scrutinize and improve (at least I think I am).

I love this little bird that I bought at a cute farm and gift store on the way to Cambria. He has a mate flitting about the room as well.

Here is my hiding spot. If you can’t find me in the house, check here. All I’m missing is a footstool and my quiet retreat is complete.

This fun side table is perfect for a cup of tea, my current read, and some eye candy.

Blue and Orange Fall Decor

I love the slider door. When I get up in morning I am greeted by all the outdoor pets who like to come and press against the screen and lure me outside!

My bedside table holds a blue pumpkin, some favorite books, and my favorite watercolor painting of all time!

I love waking up to this little bird. A solitary bird, on a misty morning with the slightest breeze rustling his feathers.

Our dresser always holds this tray, but I change out the tray with my whims. This is where the blue and orange really came together!

I found these muted pumpkins at Kirkland’s, garnish with some eucalyptus, and ground it with dark brown acorns. This pedestal bowl is always fun to fill with the season.

My bedspread is what kicks off the color scheme in my room. Long live paisly! The small, gray army of pillows was a fun sewing project a few years back. A blue and gray pumpkin accent pillow is a recent Amazon find.

You can find this pillow on Amazon!

The grand finale is this WREATH. It is what kicked off my design. Also from Kricklands, it features the perfect blend of green, white, orange, and here’s the punch line, blueberries.

Yup. I love me an original wreath. When I saw this beauty I knew that my blue and orange fall decor dreams had been realized.

Fall Home Tour

Just for fun, here’s my desk. It has to remain pretty functional because it’s where I take care of blogging business. But there is a fun display of watercolor paintings for when my eyes leave my work!

So that completes my blue and orange fall decor! I hope you are inspired to be unconventional and bring the warmth of fall into every corner of your house!

Enjoy the beauty of the season and may God richly bless your home with the joy of His presence!
